Why not create an expansion?

Hi,

This is something I have wanted for years and it really irritates me that it will probably never happen. But, considering how many re-releases this game has seen, and its huge impact on gaming as a whole, why have Rockstar never thought to add in more missions to the game?
As we know, there was a whole mission line with Darkel that was cut, and I have to imagine that if they added in something like that it would generate an awful lot of interest - along with new vehicles and weapons and things like that.
Considering how big DLC is nowadays, and the enduring popularity of Grand Theft Auto III, do you think this would be a good idea? Would it even be feasible?
